It’s been awhile since I collected some flotsam and jetsam into a miscellaneous gallery – and here it is. Pictures of all sorts of things: flora, fauna, architecture, crap, and other stuff (like Cleveland, Ohio).
The first pics are of a stray kitty I have extended an olive branch to over the last several weeks. Pretty sure it’s a ‘he’, and tonight he came in to watch some t.v. with me. I don’t think it will be permanent, but nice to know I have a buddy to invite over.
Oh and in case you didn’t know, Friday is my birthday. :)
Normally I’m only posting and going on about my pictures and camera pieces-parts. For a change of pace, I give you my first Empressr. Think of it as rich-media (and I in no way mean to denigrate it) powerpoint for the web (via AJAX and Flash). And by ‘web’ I mean ‘Web 2.0’. Neat. :)
Alison and I went to Maya’s reading at the Cornelia Street Cafe last night. As was true for her birthday a short while back, a really strong turn out and good time was had.
Good especially for me as I think I’ve worn them down to the point they stop noticing me taking pictures. :) Without further ado…
Working out the kinks and differences between my old and new cameras and their capabilities. I think I’m getting the hang of the a700, but I’m still learning its ins-and-outs.
Here is a miscellaneous gallery of shots using my 24mm (should I sell it?), my 20mm (I wont sell it) and my 28-75 (I should upgrade it), and my coveted Minolta 100mm f/2 (irreplaceable).
I also used my new vertical grip today, and I like it. I don’t think I will be lugging it with me wherever I go however – it’s huge and adds about a third to the bulk of the camera. It’s great for battery time and portrait-orientation options, but not so much for walking around inconspicuously. :)
